History of Erina Heights Vet Hospital

Erina Heights Vet Hospital began at the original site at Erina Heights in 1976 as a mixed animal practice (dogs, cats, horses, cows, alpacas, goats … you name it!) under its founder Dr Michael Bates. Dr Michael Jones joined in 1978 and became sole owner in 1987. EHVH became almost exclusively a small animal practice by 1988 once the alpaca and goat craze of the 1980s had subsided. In 2008, the location at Erina Heights was compulsorily acquired by Roads and Traffic Authority of NSW for widening and reconstruction of Central Coast Highway (formerly The Entrance Road), forcing relocation to our present site at Wamberal, but retaining the familiarity of the old practice name. The practice reopened in late 2009 after extensive redevelopment and landscaping at the present Wamberal site. In 2018, after over 40 years practicing as a veterinarian, Dr Michael Jones began his transition to retirement and handed the reigns over to Dr Melissa Kozaruk, who is our current hospital director.
